Walking to Defeat ALS…twice!

Brad’s Boardwalk Bunch crushed our efforts of 2017 , raising nearly $30,000 for the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia in September 2018.   What an honor to cut the ribbon to start the walk, Addison did amazing!  We were joined by over 100+ family and friends from near and far to stomp out this disease.  It is always special to walk/roll the boards together but this day was supernormal with the support of so many.

Our Cold Spring Elementary School Community is awesome!  They continue to ask us how they can help our family.  Finally we were able to give them a way, let’s walk together.  With an additional family sharing this diagnosis and the support of the ALS Association meeting our needs, we went to Citizens Bank to walk in November.  With fellow students, teachers, administration and the Phanatic another $15,000+ was raised.   Our kids loved walking with friends!  A HUGE thank you to all who donated and walked with our family – xo.

It can be hard to see someone in a wheelchair, talking through an iPad or other adaptive technology, on a ventilator but that is what ALS can look like.  You see this first hand at a walk.  Remember that person’s brain with ALS hasn’t changed a bit…only their body.
